About
This is a new innovation in aesthetics for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, stretch marks, and the skin’s texture, tone, and color. The Eclipse MicroPen Elite is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to aid in the production of collagen and elastin. MicroPen Elite can be used on all parts of the body.
Patients notice and immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over th course of several weeks. A series of 3-8 treatments spaces between 4-6 weeks apart is usually recommended, depending on skin concerns.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure used to encourage collage production by taking advantage of the skin’s natural healing response. Commonly known as the popular Vampire Facial.
How does it work?
The treatment uses small, sterilized needles to penetrate the skin at a superficial depth, creating a micro-injury – the skin responds by making new, collagen-rich tissue.
What are the benefits?
Microneedling is used to rejuvenate and plump the skin. Key benefits include reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduction of acne scars and pore size, reduction of dark spots/sun damage, smooths uneven skin tone and texture, stimulates collagen and improves skin elasticity and firmness.
Who is a candidate?
Microneedling is safe for almost anyone. Contraindications include those who currently have active cystic acne, active infection, or wound healing issues. Microneedling cannot be done on those who have taken Accutane in the past 6 months.
How many treatments?
It is strongly recommended to have 3-6 Microneedling sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results.
Downtime/Aftercare?
There is minimal downtime and little recovery – 2 days no sun, no makeup, no heat. The skin will have some redness and irritation – cleanse with gentle cleanser, keep skin moist and diligently apply sunscreen.
Why Fall & Winter?
Protection from sun exposure is vital for skin health! With less heat and fewer hours of daylight, Fall and Winter is the perfect time to take advantage of minimal sun time and begin your skin health journey!
PRP vs HA
Our microneedling treatments incorporate either PRP or Hyaluronic Acid to increase the efficacy of the treatment. PRP is platelet rich plasma found in red blood cells. PRP stimulates collagen, thickens and tightens the skin, smooths fine lines and improves overall skin tone and skin health. Hyaluronic Acid is a water binding molecule, naturally produced in our bodies. HA hydrates the skin and draws in moisture, it promotes plumpness, reduces the appearance of fine lines and uneven texture, and brightens complexion.
